So what’s the cost? Well ask us for a quote, but in general you can work on the basis of the simple pricing below…
TAPE TO DVD
There are many types of tapes, and I can covert all the common ones – VHS, VHS-C, 8mm, Hi8, DV.
There are two sizes of DVD, single layer DVD which can fit around 1.7 hours of good quality video and Dual Layer which can fit about 3.4 hours of good video.
The prices I quote are per DVD created and number of tapes… so depends on the original length of video and number of tapes the footage is on.
Normal Single Layer DVD (1.6 hours per DVD) = £14.00
Dual Layer DVD (3.2 hours per DVD) = £19.00
Handling charge per original tape = £1.00
eg. one 3 hour VHS video tapes that are full, would take 2 normal DVDs (£29.00 total) or 1 Dual Layer DVD (£20.00)
eg. three 1 hour camcorder tapes that are full, would take 2 normal DVDs (£31.00 total) or 1 Dual Layer DVD (£22.00)
eg. one 1 hour camcorder tape full, would take 1 normal DVD (£15.00 total)
Price INCLUDES picture disk printing and poly disc cover.
Additional Options:-
Standard DVD disk case and bespoke picture cover £5.50
Backup (duplicate) disks if ordered with original £4.00
Backup disk if ordered within 6 months £7.00 (not available after then as contents are cleared – for storage and privacy reasons).
Ask about discount for bulk production – More than 5 disks produced 5% discount, more than 10 disks, 15% discount.
TAPE TO VIDEO FILE – MP4 or MOV or as requested
This is more straightforward, and produces high quality digital video files and is at the following costs:-
Footage = £9.50 per hour (payment is a min of one hour per order, over one hour charged per half hour)
Handling charge per original tape = £1.00
Memory Sticks available from £10.00 but happy to put on your own supplied stick
eg. one 3 hour tape full = £29.50 (3 hours @ £9.50 ph + £1 handling charge for tape) on your own stick
eg. three 1 hour tapes full = £31.50 (3 hours @ £9.50 ph + £3 for tapes) on your own stick
eg. one 3 hour tape with 15 mins on = £10.50 (1 hour @ £9.50 ph + £1 for tape) on your own stick
eg. one 3 hour tape with 80 mins on = £14.25 (1.5 hours @ £9.50 ph + £1 for tape) on your own stick
Ask about discount for bulk processing – more than 5 hours converted 5% discount, more than 10 hours converted 10% discount).
